Cape Town, the oldest town in South Africa, rich in overlain history, multiethnic and very diversified in its various expressions, is worth a trip alone. But in addition to this wonderful city and the spectacular view from the famous Table Mountain, you cannot miss visiting the beaches of the two oceans that bathe South Africa, where you can watch the whales (from August to November) at Hermanus or the penguins atBoulders Beach, or, for the more adventurous, taking a swim in a cage surrounded by sharks.
Once in Cape Town, the Cape of Good Hope is a very short walk. Cape Point, inside the nature reserve ofCape Peninsula, is the point where the currents of the Indian Ocean meet the Atlantic and where flora Fynbos is incredibly lush.
The visit to Stellenbosch allow wine lovers to sample some local produce, until only recently unknown, and which today is becoming famous all over the world.
More sun and sea, with a short period of relaxation on the beautiful beaches of Wilderness where you can make a stop in Knysna with a visit to the botanical garden and a “Sunset Cruise” on the lagoon at the famous nature reserve.
In Africa you can’t miss out on the elephants. A visit to Addo Elephant National Park will allow you to observe these magnificent animals, along with the buffalo and rhinos: three of the five species that make up the “Big Five”, namely the largest animals on the African continent.
Then we move on to make a visit to the Cango Caves and one night in the spa town of Montagu, situated along the famous Route 62 (Garden Route) known for its production of South African wine.
