“A taste of African natural beauty” – The 23 day African Odyssey itinerary is a an overland tour combining the beauty of Namibia, the magic of the Okavango Delta and Chobe River to end up in Zimbabwe at the mighty Victoria Falls. You can complete the whole tour or you have the possibility to stop or fly out from the tour in established sites (Windhoek or Victoria Falls).

This is the best African experience ever!

You will visit the South of Namibia with the Kalahari Desert and the Fish River Canyon, and passing from Luderitz you will visit Kolmanskop, (the desert ghost town). The tour doesn’t miss the Namib Desert and the higher dunes. You can walk on some of them. The visit of Swakopmund and Walvis Bay let you know the Atlantic Ocean before to start to the Damaraland. During the tour you will visit two local villages and you discover the customs and traditions of Himba and Bushmen. Then in Etosha National Park and in Chobe National Park you will enjoy the game drive activities both in the early morning and during the sunset time. A lot of animals populate these park included the big predators, the elephants, and a lot of rare antelopes. One of the last incredible stop will be in Zimbabwe where  “The Smoke That Thunders”, the awesome Victoria Falls will wonder you.

Breakfast at the hotel from Windhoek between 7.30 and 8.00
Early morning departure from Windhoek to the Kalahari fossil desert located in the south eastern part of Namibia.
Arrival at the camping – lodge and accommodation where you can have a first look to the animals in the pond of the structure
Afternoon game drive on the dunes to discover rhino, Black Impala, Golden and White Oryx, Springbok Black & White, White Blesbok, Njala, Giraffe, Cheetah, Kudu, Gemsbok, Zebra and many more animals.

2nd day
Early morning departure to the Fish River Canyon (400 Km). Stop in Mariental and in Keetmanshoop to visit the site where it is preserved Fossil Mesosaurus and Quiver Tree Forest
Arrival in the southern part of the Fish River Canyon where you will stay in the Ai-Ais Hot Springs Resort & Spa, with spa and heated swimming pool with sulphurous water

3rd day
Visit to the Fish River Canyon, the 2nd largest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon, formed with starting erosion about 500 million years ago. Back to the Resort and departure for Aus (350 Km)

Arrival in the region of Aus Huib-Hoch-Plateau with accommodation in a lodge or in tents at Klein Aus Vista

Departing early to Luderitz (125 km).
You can watch the wild horses along the way. These are horses that have adapted to an environment almost free of water.
Arrival in Luderitz where you can have an optional excursion on a catamaran to see Halifaz Island where there are penguins Jackass. After the excursion or the shopping tour in Luderitz, you will visit Kolmanskop, a desert ghost town about 20 km out of Luderitz.

Early morning departure to Sesriem (350 km). During the trip you can see the change of views from those barren desert to the red dunes

Starting before dawn to Sossusvlei and enjoy the first rays of the sun on the dunes of the Namib Desert. You will walk along the last 5 km of road.
Visit the dead Vlei
A walking on the dune 45 and then back to Sesreim

In the late afternoon, with better climate, you will visit the Sesreim Canyon

Drive to Windhoek (350 km) through the Naukluft Mountain and the Khomas Hochland Range
Arrival by 16.00 in Windhoek in the hotel or facility chosen

Departure around 8:30 to 9:00 to Okahandja where we will visit the largest market of wood carving of Namibia, the best way to shop for souvenirs.
Departure to Okonjima, home to Africat, a private foundation located in an extensive reserve created for the conservation of animal species at risk of extinction, such as leopards and cheetahs.
Arrival and accommodation in tent or in lodge
Afternoon game drive to discover the animals in the reserve, saved from desperate situations and waiting to be released into the wild nature

Departure to Namutoni (300 Km), eastern entrance of the Etosha National Park.
Lunch in Namutoni after short stops to refuel in the towns you will cross

10th day
Departure to Okaukuejo (150 km)
Full day dedicated to the game drive in the Etosha National Park, to discover the animals that inhabit the park
Lunch at Halali where you can also swim in the pool and enjoy the local bar
Departure for Okaukejo always with the opportunity to observe the animals in the park
Arrival at the camp or at the lodge
Dinner under the stars with a chance to observe animals that are drinking at night the pool of water next to the field, inside the park.

Departure to Grootberg (310 Km) and visit a Himba village near Kamajab. You will be explained about the uses and customs of this population that inhabits the territories of Kaokoland
Departure to the Community Hoada, in a beautiful area with granite hills and Mopani trees.

12th day
Departure to Twyfelfontein (190 km) through the Damaraland, one of the most beautiful regions of the desert of Namibia.
Arrive at Twyfelfontein where you will visit the ancient petroglyphs of the Bushmen with a local guide

13th day
Drive to the Brandberg, the highest mountain in Namibia (2573 m), located in Damaraland
Visit the town of Uis where if you want you can buy good price semi precious stones and minerals
Departure to the Skeleton Coast and meeting with the Atlantic Ocean to Henties Bay, before arriving at Cape Cross, and visit the famous seal colony.
Arrive late afternoon in Swakopmund and accommodation in tent or in lodge.
Short walk before sunset
Fish dinner at a restaurant in Swakopmund. Optional choice not included in the tour price.

14th day
Morning free to relax with the opportunity to do some shopping or to book activities organized by local agencies (in the schedule which will be provided when booking the tour)

Arrival in Windhoek at the chosen accommodation

15th day
Breakfast at the chosen accommodation
Departure to Ghanzi (Botswana) at 7:30 – 8:00. You will be collected at your facility.
Lunch on the way in one of the villages that you will encounter
Arrival in Ghanzi through the border near the village of Witvlei at Buitepos.
Accommodation in your camp and relaxing time after the long journey
Dinner with Bushman dance

16th day
Early morning departure to Guma (450 km) with a stop in Ghanzi to refuel the vehicle
Lunch on the way
Departure for the Okavango Delta. A change of vegetation will you announce the transition zone between the Kalahari Desert and the delta area
Arrival at the camp or at the lodge on the banks of the lagoon of Guma

17th day
Early morning departure to the point where you can get the Mokoro to visit the Delta. Mokoro is a traditional transport “boat” of this part of ​​Botswana; driven by a person located in the back, it can trasport only two passengers.
Still Mokoro activities then return to the campsite

18th day
Departure to the Caprivi, the strip of Namibia, which borders to the north with Angola and to the south with Botswana. After you will have crossed the border with Botswana, in the small park of Mahango Game Reserve you will have the opportunity to observe roan and sable antelopes. These two species are very difficult to find in the rest of Africa

19th day
Passing the border with Namibia. You will visit the traditional village of Lizauli where you will know the ways of life of the people of Caprivi. You will also learn a traditional healer of the tribe.
Departure towards the eastern Namibia Katima Mulilo. After crossing the border with Botswana You will arrive in Kasane, in the Chobe National Park
Late afternoon arrival in Kasane and accommodation in tent or in lodge.

20th day
Hot drink early in the morning then you will start for a game drive in the Chobe National Park where you can spot, amongst others, the large predators (lions, cheetahs and leopards)
Lunch at the camp and relax in the early afternoon
Starting in the late afternoon for a cruise on the Chobe River where you will appreciate the animals that live in the river: hippos and crocodiles as well as many varieties of birds

21st day
Drive to Victoria Falls (80 Km). You will cross the border at Kazangula, the meeting point of four countries (Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe). After the border you get to Vic Falls.
Visit the waterfalls, unique in the way, also known as “Mosi-oa-Tunya” – “The smoke that thunders”.
Arrival and accommodation in tent or in lodge in central Victoria Falls

Somebody could fly out of the tour, in Vic Falls
After the greetings of those who leave the tour, you will start the trip to Windhoek. The mileage is many and you can take photos of the beautiful landscapes that you will meet only at the staging points for refilling the vehicle.

Departure to Rundu.
Late afternoon arrival in Rundu in northern Namibia and accommodation in tent or in lodge. The place for the night is placed along the Okavango River. The river separates Namibia from Angola and downstream forms the great delta that.
Dinner at the Lodge included.

24th day
Starting very early in the morning to Windhoek. You will be in the capital town of Namibia after 800 km of the road, passing through the towns of Grootfontein, Otjiwarongo and Okahandja
Restart towards Windhoek. The only scheduled stop is at the local woodcarving stalls, as well as the market at Okahandja before arriving in the city out to Windhoek (350 km – 4h 30 ‘)
Arrival in Windhoek at the chosen structure in the late afternoon or early evening.

NOTE: There is no single supplement, the style is limited participation assisted camping (or upgrade to accommodation on all OR some of the tours). The two nights between safaris in Windhoek are accommodated and included in the itinerary in Windhoek (day 3 and day 10).
Additional Information: It is strongly recommended that you purchase comprehensive personal travel insurance before you embark on your safari. Travel insurance is for your own protection and we consider it to be an essential part of modern international travel. There are a few nationalities that will require to pre arrange their entry visa to Namibia and Botswana.  Please note that if this visa is required, it will need to be a multiple entry visa and not a single entry visa.  Please check on booking this safari if you need a pre-arranged visa.
The KAZA UNIVISA is a common tourist visa for the SADC region which shall be piloted by Zambia and Zimbabwe for six (6) months.
The UNIVISA will be issued at a standard fee of US Dollar 50, cash will be required.
Validity – the KAZA UNIVISA will be valid for 30 days as long as you remain in Zimbabwe and Zambia and clients can cross into Zimbabwe/Zambia as frequently as they like within the 30 day period. It also covers those who visit Botswana for day trips through the Kazangula Borders – it will not be valid if staying in Botswana overnight, in this case you would need to purchase a new Visa. The UNIVISA cannot be extended however you can buy a new UNIVISA (up to 3 per year).
Citizens from the countries listed below shall be eligible for the KAZA UNIVISA obtainable at the eight ports of entry as stated.

The style is limited participation, assisted camping with the participation limited to only helping with the tents. The price is virtually fully inclusive of everything you will need whilst travelling with us. Night 3 and night 10 are included in the price of the trip in a quality Windhoek guest-house
